Beauty Is Vain

I remember the two years that I spent living in Hollywood. When you are doing anything in the entertainment business, you tend to immerse yourself in the Hollywood culture. You know when you get there that you are one of the many fish that move to Hollywood with dreams of Stardom.

When I arrived, I saw all these skinny and beautiful people and all these people in shape. I felt the pressure of needing to lose weight. I would go to the gym 3 or 4 times a day. I became obsessed with eating as little as possible.

In Proverbs 31, Solomon pointed out that charm is deceitful and beauty is vain. When I started getting to know these beautiful people, I realized that some of them were just plain ugly on the inside. We have all heard the saying: It is what’s on the inside that counts.

I have been married for almost three years. God really blessed me with this one. She is as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside. Many women that I dated may have been so called HOT, but they were very mean on the outside.

Beauty is not forever. It is guaranteed to fade. Real beauty lasts forever. Authentic beauty never fades. When I look at my wife, I see that.

We need to do that to eachother. Everybody has beauty in them. When we are walking with Jesus, God will reveal the beauty in you and others.
