Power Of Forgiveness

There is power in forgiveness. Forgiving someone that hurt you can be hard. I was physically and emotionally abused for years by a trusted family member. To this day the hurt is still there, but it is healing.

I never truly was able to heal until I was able to forgive. For years, I numbed myself with drugs and alcohol. I was trying to fill up a glass that had a whole in the bottom.

I turned to God and asked for help. The person has apologized which doesn’t change the past, but the past can’t be changed. I forgave that person and was able to heal.

Jesus forgave us so we have no reason not to forgive. I made so many mistakes in life. Sometimes, the hardest thing to do is to forgive yourself. That is something that I am working on.

With it he touched my mouth, and said,” See, this has touched my lips; your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for.” Isaiah 6:7 NIB
