Love Of Money

It has been said that money isn’t everything. Without money, you don’t have anything including food on the table. You need money to live.

Is money bad? It can be, but God wants us to be successful, but without him, there is no true success. You don’t get to take any of the money with you when you leave this. The wealth that God gives last forever.

Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you. Hebrews 13:5 NIV

God wants us to be successful. There is nothing wrong with money in itself. It is the love of money that is the root above everything. When money consumes your life to the point where it disconnects you will God’s Spirit. When we seek him, our needs will be met.

But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms the covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today. Deuteronomy 8:18 NIV

That is right. God has given us the ability to accumulate wealth. He has given us our talents. The best way to not fall into the love of money is to never forget who gave it to you. In order to receive, you must first give.

Whoever loves money never has enough; whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with their income. This too is meaningless. Ecclesiastes 5:10 NIV

When we have a love for money, we never have enough. The Bible tells us that is easier for a camel to get through the eye of a needle then it is for a rich man to get into Heaven. Be thankful everyday for what God gives you, because what God can give, he can also take away. Then you end up with nothing.
