Sometimes in life, we tend to do things without having the best intentions at heart. Sometimes we do things with a selfish motive. Sometimes when we accomplish things, we can sometimes become conceited.
Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves.- Philippians 2:3 NIV
Humility is a modest or low view of ones importance. In other words, being Humble. We as humans tend to let things get to our heads.
Ever had that one boss that was too young and inexperienced, but was promoted anyway and let it get to his head. Then he walked around like God until someone told him “Dude, you work at Burger King.” We have all had that one boss at one point of our lives.
We are called to humble ourselves. If we can’t humble ourselves to God, how can we humble ourselves to other people. We live in a Me-Me-Me world. I call it the selfish generation. Sometimes we just need to think about somebody else. The world does not revolve around you or me. It revolves around Us. You, me and the homeless guy that asked you for money at the gas station last Thursday.
Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited. Romans 12:16 NIV
