The Golden Rule

In everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the prophets. —Matthew 7:12 NIV

The Golden Rule. So basic, but so complex for some people. When I was younger, I did not follow that rule all the time. My golden rule at the time was: do unto others as they do unto me.

People are imperfect. Some people will hurt you. Some people will slander your name and gossip about you. Some people will make you angry. Our first defense is to bite back. When we do that, they won and we stooped to their level.

My mom always said to kill them with kindness. When Jesus told us to love one another, he didn’t mean love some people. He meant love all people. .

We are to love all people and if they do not receive the love, move on. At least we tried. Thankfully, most people are more than happy to welcome love in their life.
