Wisdom

If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. James 1:5 NIV

Knowledge is knowing. Wisdom is that knowledge in action. When we are born, we know nothing and have to learn how to live. When we are born again, we know nothing and have to learn how to live for God.

When we ask, God will direct us to the knowledge. The Holy Spirit reveals it and grants us the wisdom. We have no excuse not to have that wisdom. It is given to us.

Now this is our boast: Our conscience testifies that we have conducted ourselves in the world, and especially in our relations with you, with integrity and godly sincerity. We have done so, relying not on worldly wisdom but on God’s grace. 2 Corinthians 1:12 NIV

So many people rely on this world for wisdom. They believe that the world has everything we need and that there is no need for God. This couldn’t be further from the truth. The light of Jesus needs to shine us so that people know that we are serious about our faith.

In our faith, we find wisdom and guidance that only God could give. When we are out in the world, we are to act in God’s love and be sincere. We are forgiven through God’s grace. God’s grace provides us with the tools we need to be an ambassador for him.
