Forgive/Forget

Do you know how we can tell that we are human? We do not forgive and forget. We may be able to forgive, but we have a hard time forgetting.
God is different. When we ask forgiveness, we are forgiven. He forgives and then He forgets. He wipes our slates clean. If we still have the same problem after, that is because of us. Not Him.

Sometimes the hardest person to forgive is yourself. When we finally forgive ourselves, we have this horrible habit of not letting it go. If God forgot about it, then we should too.

Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord, and that he may send the Messiah, who has been appointed for you-even Jesus. Acts 3:19-20 NIV

  1. I would love to have a memory like God’s! He remembers what He wants to, and forgets what He wants to with ease. I seem to remember things I should forget and forget things I should remember. Good post Jeremy!
