The Pharisees told him that his testimony was not valid. They wondered where his witness was and accused him of having a testimony that wasn’t valid. Jesus did not hold back. He knew what they were trying to do.
Jesus answered, “Even if I testify on my own behalf, my testimony is valid, for I know where I came from and where I am going. But you have no idea where I come from or where I am going.15You judge by human standards; I pass judgment on no one. 16But if I do judge, my decisions are true, because I am not alone. I stand with the Father, who sent me. 17In your own Law it is written that the testimony of two witnesses is true.18I am one who testifies for myself; my other witness is the Father, who sent me.” John 8:14-18 NIV
They were judging Jesus and hold him in contempt, but God always have Jesus the right words to say as he does for us now. The Pharisees, as wise they are in the law, had no idea where Jesus was coming or going and they did not know his Father. They asked him where his Father was.
“You do not know me or my Father,” Jesus replied. “If you knew me, you would know my Father also.” John 8:19 NIV
It is impossible to know God the Father without Jesus. It would be impossible to know Jesus without God. It is impossible to comprehend without out the Holy Spirit. Praise God for his Ultimate Wonders.
