The Greatest Virtue

And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Colossians 3:14 NIV

Love is among one of the greatest virtues. Love unites, but the love of Jesus unites and changes. Sometimes it can be hard to love certain people, but we are giving a higher calling to love one another.

If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.  It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 1 Corinthians 13:3-5 NIV

Faith without works is dead and Faith without love is non-existent. Love is patient and kind. We love others without being prideful. Love keeps no record of any wrongs. God is Love.

Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 1 Corinthians 13:6-7 NIV

When Paul preached to the Church of Corinthians (a mega church in it’s own right), he stressed the importance of loving one another. How can we lead people to him without demonstrating God’s Love on a daily basis?

Love builds hope. Love builds character. Love keeps us united and preserves the unity amongst all believers. Our hope is in Jesus. Love like there is no tomorrow.
