Faith In Action: Part 4

Abraham was one of the ultimate examples of Faith. He went through so much, yet his Faith always grew, because of his trust in God. We can learn so much from Abraham when it comes to the topic of Faith.

8By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going. Hebrews 11:8 NIV

God gave Abraham a promise and said: Go! Abraham had no idea where he was going, but he trusted God. He had Faith that he was doing God’s Will and would be rewarded.

So he took off with his wife Sarah and took his sons: Isaac and Jacob. They moved to a foreign land: the promised land and they were strangers. They looked forward to the promise of a new city: built by God. He knew not where he was going but had faith that never ceased.

By faith he made his home in the promised land like a stranger in a foreign country; he lived in tents, as did Isaac and Jacob, who were heirs with him of the same promise. For he was looking forward to the city with foundations, whose architect and builder is God. Hebrews 11:9-10

His wife Sarah was not able to have a child due to age, but was blessed with a child. Through the Faith of this one man did God reveal his awesome power and there came many descendants. God made us the same promise. So Have Faith! Let It Rise!

And so from this one man, and he as good as dead, came descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as countless as the sand on the seashore. Hebrews 11:11-12 NIV
