Intentions

Sometimes, when I write, I meditate on a verse and ask the Holy Spirit to give me the words. These words are meant to help others, but so many times, the words were meant for me as well. Praise God!

I am studying to be a Pastor and I started this blog as a means to serve and help people. It has helped me get closer in my Faith. I am so thankful for everyone who supports the Ministry. This is about Jesus, I am just a servant.

Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ. Galations 1:10 NIV
When I did standup comedy, I had the drive to please people and found no time to please God within that. Paul used to seek out approval from people when he was younger. As he got older, he grew wiser. He was pondering his intentions.

This can be related to all of us. As humans, we want to be liked. We want to be accepted. When we do something, are we doing it in God’s interest or our own? Is what we are doing pleasing to the Lord or are we doing it to please ourselves or others?

We need to ask ourselves these questions on a regular basis. If we drive to just please the world, we serve the world. When our drive is to please God: We can serve the world through the pleasing of God. Amen!
