I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent. Luke 15:7 NIV
I have been to lots of churches in my life. Started out in a Nazerene and Assembly of God. I have been to lots of denominational churches. I converted to Catholicism in my mid 20s.
I then went to a Lutheran Church and a Methodist Church. Now I am at another non-denominational church and am happy where God has put me. With all this background, nothing compares to Jesus. It isn’t about denominations. It is about Jesus.
Some churches can be so judgemental which is contrary to what God teaches. None of us are God and so we should worry about ourselves. What someone does is between God and them.
We were all slaves to our sin. If you think you are Holy and sinless and above everyone else, you are sinking and are unaware. I was tired of getting stared at in Church. I want to be embraced, not judged and stared at because I have tattoos.
God rejoices more in us repenting from our sins. He does not rejoice when people think they are above other people and better off. This Holier-than-thou attitude needs to stop in the ministry.
Embrace your sin so you can embrace the forgiveness. Embrace God’s grace so you can experience the Holy Spirit. Embrace Jesus so you can embrace the Kingdom. Amen!
