Not My Life, But Yours

Lord, I know that people’s lives are not their own; it is not for them to direct their steps.Jeremiah 10:23 NIV

We all have goals and dreams. This is an important facet in life. I was always told to dream big and pursue my goals.

I wanted to be a rockstar, a rap artist, an airplane mechanic. All these things were all distractions to my call to the ministry and becoming a Pastor.

I went through my 20s thinking that this is MY life and I can run it myself. In reality, this life is not ours. Our sins were bought and paid for in the blood of Christ. Our life is not ours. It belongs to God.

Jeremiah was a great man of faith and he prayed with sincerity. He was saying that we may think we know the way, but we are truly lost without Jesus.

Discipline me, Lord, but only in due measure—not in your anger, or you will reduce me to nothing. Jeremiah 10:24 NIV

God will convict us of things and will correct us. If He was to do it in anger, He would reduce us to nothing. We are nothing without Him. We are nothing without Jesus.

So live in Faith. Let Jesus take the wheel because there are so many crazy drivers out there. We need His Love. We need His Direction. Most importantly, we need His Love. Praise Be To God!

  1. Indeed, dear friend – nothing belongs to us – all is His – so we are the administrators of our body, mind and soul – and when losing body/matter/mind then only the soul is left which is a drop of the Almighty Ocean, of God – as nothing else exists than God – we are all His children.

    Thank you 🙂

    All good wishes
