Good Old Days?

Do not say, “Why were the old days better than these?” For it is not wise to ask such questions. Ecclesiastes 7:10 NIV

We all tend to have fond memories of “back in the day”. Stuff was easier. We had not experienced life as it is. So many people say ” I wish I could be 20 again.” Or we have the famous, ” If I could do it all over knowing what I know now.”

Both are forms of wayward thinking. In reality, if we didn’t make the mistakes, we wouldn’t be the people we are today. Most of us would just go back and make the same mistakes. I despise the life that I was living then.

It is okay to be nostalgic. Sometimes, it tends to lead to pessimistic feelings. We need to stop dwelling in the past and avoid looking in the rearview mirror. The past was and Jesus Is. What we go through now is more important.

We are too be thankful for our past blessings. Look in the now. We are in the present and God has so many blessings for all those that believe and follow Him.

Jesus has promised to take us home. What more could we want. Live in Faith. Live by the promise. Trust the Lord. The best is yet to come. Praise be to God.
