Distractions

The seed that fell among the thorns represents those who hear God’s word, but all too quickly the message is crowded out by the worries of this life and the lure of wealth, so no fruit is produced. Matthew 13:22 NLT

God throws out seeds for us everyday. Those seeds are us. We hear God’s Word and we look forward to His Kingdom. Yet, we live in a human world that is full of distractions.

Sometimes the wear and tear of our physical life can distract us from our spiritual life. Our society is based on what we have. With the pursuit of riches and our desire for material things can lead us into a web of selfishness and worry.

Eventually our hold on the gospel will diminish and our Faith can be stifled. There is nothing wrong with having nice things, but it is the love of these things that can get in our way. God’s Kingdom is our ours and Jesus has set us free.
