A New Self: Part 3

You used to do these things when your life was still part of this world. But now is the time to get rid of anger, rage, malicious behavior, slander, and dirty language. Don’t lie to each other, for you have stripped off your old sinful nature and all its wicked deeds. Colossians 3:7-9 NLT

When we are made new in Christ, we go through a transformation. Things that we used to do don’t even appeal to is. We are still encouraged to work on ourselves. Seperate yourself from the old you.

Let go of the hate and the anger and the gossip. Stop being malicious and slandering others. We have been stripped of our sinful nature. Let Jesus be our guide so that we can one day be just like Him.

Put on your new nature, and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like him. Colossians 3:10 NLT

We have God’s grace. The more we follow Jesus, the closer we get to God. The closer that we are to God, the more we long to be like Him. Let go of the old you. It no longer belongs.

This next verse seals the deal. It does not matter what you have done or who you are: Jew, Gentile, Black, White, Hispanic, Asian, or any other race. God offers His grace to all and He gave His Son for the redemption of all.

Here it is: It does not matter who you are or what you have done. It is all about Jesus. Jesus is all that matters. He is the Way. He is the Truth. He is the Life that we long for. He lives in all of us. Praise the Lord!

In this new life, it doesn’t matter if you are a Jew or a Gentile, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbaric, uncivilized, slave, or free. Christ is all that matters, and he lives in all of us. Colossians 3:11
