If I could speak all the languages of earth and of angels, but didn’t love others, I would only be a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I understood all of God’s secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn’t love others, I would be nothing. 1 Corinthians 13:1-2 NLT
We can accomplish anything in this world. It does not matter what we do if we do not have love, it was all done in vain. The Greek translation for love is ἀγάπην. Or agápi.
This is the most powerful word you can say to someone. I love you. We can understand all of God’s knowledge, but if we do not have love for each other, it profits us nothing. Faith can move mountains which is a metaphor for doing great things. Without love, is it really even faith?
If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it; but if I didn’t love others, I would have gained nothing. 1 Corinthians 13:3-4 NLT
We can give everything away to help the poor and do great things, but if it was not done out of our love for God, it means nothing. God did everything out of His love for us. It is time for us all to reciprocate.
