Faith 101 Series: Part 1

Most people know about John 3:16: He gave us salvation through Jesus. If we believe in Him, we will receive eternal life. Some people say that believe in God, bit their actions speak nothing of it. I have been guilty of that in the past.

When we believe, we just begin our walk. That belief has to turn into Faith. It goes beyond belief. When we try to solve our problems with the world, we will never come out of a solution. Put your faith in Jesus and follow Him and you will hear the voice of God. Your Faith becomes real!

Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain fell, the torrents raged, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because its foundation was on the rock. Matthew 7:24-25 NIV

Nobody ever said that being a Christian would solve all your problems. We are going to struggle. There will be temptation. As long as we live in this world, we will be surrounded by evil and sin.

It does however gives us a rock. A perfect foundation for us to stand on. That rock and foundation is Jesus Christ. The wind will come and bring waves. Those waves will crash. We will not be moved.

But everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not act on them is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain fell, the torrents raged, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell—and great was its collapse!” Matthew 7:26-27 NIV

When we build our houses on sand, it means that we use the world as our foundation. It is bound to collapse which will cause us to fall and sink. All other ground is sinking sand but the rock and foundation that we have in Jesus.
