No Perfect People: Part 1

As long as we are human and there is sin in the world, we will make mistakes. Sometimes small mistakes and sometimes big ones. Thankfully we are forgiven. A mistake is never a mistake if we learn from it. Then it is a life lesson.

I wanted to illustrate how some people that we respect in the the Bible made mistakes that they learned from. Some you may have heard of. First off, we have Moses.

Most people see Moses as the one who brought the 10 commandments. Did you know that a young Moses actually murdered someone? It was almost vigilante style:

One day, after Moses had grown up, he went out to where his own people were and watched them at their hard labor. He saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, one of his own people. Looking this way and that and seeing no one, he killed the Egyptian and hid him in the sand. Exodus 2:11-12 NLT

Even someone like Moses made a mistake as loved as he was during the time. If you notice, there is no other recording in the Bible of him doing it ever again. He made a mistake that turned into a life lesson, because it almost got him killed.

In this series, we will explore a few of these cases to show how God worked through people despite their sin. Next part will be about the apostle Paul. Or the apostle formally known as Saul.
