Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Romans 12:14 NIV
This is one of the hardest things to do. Bless those who persecute you. Our human nature is to curse those that so. Our nature in Christ tells us to do otherwise. We are to kill evils with love and slay the devil with the sword of righteousness.
Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. Romans 12:15 NIV
We are to rejoice when others rejoice and mourn with those that mourn. God’s compassion for us needs to be spread by us to all so that they may know the good news. We are to feel what others feel and love those that are in need.
Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited. Romans 12:14-16 NIV
We are to be humble. Jesus hung out with tax collectors and prostitutes. Never let pride get in the way.
We are to do what Jesus did and love everyone, especially those in a lower position: the poor, the homeless and those that are plagued by alcohol and drugs. Those in most need of God’s mercy.
